Taming Tyler Hayes

Book 2:
Once Upon a Time in Bridgeport Series

Taming Tyler Hayes

(sequel to Breaking Ryan Baylor)

So I never set out for this to be a series, and yet, here we are, with book 2 having been released on April 30, 2024.

This is all thanks to Tyler Hayes. I couldn't get enough of that kid when I was writing Breaking Ryan Baylor. He wormed his way into my heart, and when I finished the first book, I had so many questions about this character that I'd just created and fallen in love with: What makes him tick? Why is he so cocky and obsessed with older women? What happens when he makes the show? What becomes of him and Ryan (just a fling, or something more)?

This book is a deep dive into his past, his demons (both past and present) and his desire to overcome them. This book isn't a "feel good" book. It's a romance in the sense that there's an HEA for the main characters, but you may not walk away feeling happy at the end. You're most likely going to feel hurt, frustration, anger, or any combination of other emotions. This is very authentic and realistic story about dealing with and overcoming addiction and the effects it has on those we love.

It has its other moments, too: there's humor (because Ty is a riot), there's tenderness (as Ty and Ryan try to figure this thing out), and there is SPICE (MM and MMM scenes, and they're, umm....well, they're pretty hot).

I hope you will take a chance on Ty's story; even though it may wreck you, it was an important one for me to tell, and I hope I did it justice.

Oh, and there's a book three too!

“Hayes may have been strong, but when you’ve had to be strong for as long as he’d had to be, there eventually came a breaking point.

And he knew, as did Ryan, that he’d reached it.”

Following a chaotic year prior, 21-year-old professional hockey player Tyler Hayes has managed to secure a spot on the New York Islanders’ opening night roster, to no one’s surprise. Finally getting the chance to make a name for himself in the fast-paced NHL setting with his gorgeous boyfriend only minutes away in Bridgeport, things seem to be trending in the right direction for him.

But when did life ever come that easily for Tyler Hayes?

The flare up of an old injury, his deteriorating relationship, reawakened memories of repressed childhood trauma, and a smokin’ hot new teammate with a propensity for partying.

The combination quickly drags him on a downward spiral of addiction, codependency, and depression, forcing him to learn the meaning of true rock bottom.

Will he defeat his demons, becoming the star everyone knows he holds the potential to be, or will he succumb to them, earning a place in history as just another washed-up has-been…or something much worse?

This is the sequel to CH Maddington’s debut novel, Breaking Ryan Baylor, and if you thought that one was angsty?

Buckle up.
